Background
Poisoning in children is a major health problem worldwide. Public health authorities and physicians
require routine surveillance to update childhood poisoning prevention and treatment strategies.
Poisoning is one ofthe common pediatric emergencies in India. The nature and pattern of poisoning vary
with region, socioeconomic, cultural factors and living conditions. This retrospective study has been done
to describe pattern of various poisoning in children.
