Moreover, brain metastases and superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS) in lung cancer patients further have been coupled with dismal prognosis and short overall survival. Such patients presenting in fourth stage of cancer have been considered usually incurable and considered for palliative treatment or sometimes Best Supportive Care. Case Report- We present a case of carcinoma lung with SVCS, who later on developed brain metastasis in the course of treatment. He has been successfully treated with radiation therapy to lung lesion with concurrent chemotherapy followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. He also received External Beam Radiation for brain metastasis. He is disease free after 7 years of treatment completion and on regular follow-up till date. Conclusion- This case is being reported in view of long term survivorship of a locally advanced and metastatic lung cancer patient with a poor prognosis and to accentuate the fact that selected subsets of patients, with metastatic disease, can be treated with aggressive protocols to ensure long term disease control
Chaudhary Prekshi, Singh Dinesh, Agarwal Rashi, Mishra Shive, Chhabra Chhabra Akanksh, Sharma Gopal Copyright (c) 0 https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2470 Wed, 31 Oct 2018 00:00:00 +0000 Unilateral IPF- A Rare Occurrence https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2471
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic non – neoplastic lung disease, which is rapidly progressive in nature, having a poor prognosis. It is restricted to the lungs and occurs in the elderly. We present a case of a 71 year old female, with progressive shortness of breath and dry cough. High resolution computed tomography (HRCT) of the chest revealed unilateral IPF of the right lung. She also had a grade 3 hiatus hernia, which only fuels the speculation of GERD being an important risk factor for the development of IPF. Till date only a handful of such cases have been reported.
Priti Lokesh Meshram, Kapil Iyer, N Ramraje Copyright (c) 0 https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2471 Tue, 15 Jan 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Functional Outcome After Rotational Vascularized Fibular Graft For Gct Resection On Right Proximal Tibia: A Case Report https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2472
Giant cell tumors are locally aggressive tumors with a high rate of recurrence. There are various methods exist as treatment option for reconstruction following tumor resection. Wide excision is the management of choice, but this creates a defect at the proximal end of tibia. We here present our experience with wide resection and vascularised autogenous fibula grafting for GCT of proximal tibia. From 40 years old male with GCT right proximal tibia with right knee flexion contracture. We preferred ipsilateral vascularized fibular graft as reconstruction modality following by arthrodesis on affected limb. Evaluation of anatomical, functional, radiological outcomes of this management was undergone. After 3,5 years , the patient has good outcome. There is no pain, no reccurency of tumor, the graft is union and become hyperthrophy. Patient can walk with full weight bearing for now
Alfa Januar, Henry Yurianto, Ruksal ``Saleh Copyright (c) 0 https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2472 Wed, 31 Oct 2018 00:00:00 +0000 Modified Mustard Procedure for D-Tga with Left Superior Venacava https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2473
Transposition of the great arteries refers to ventriculoarterial discordance. Complete transposition is also known as d-TGA and is commonly seen in newborns. Cyanotic babies may be treated percutaneously with a Rashkindatrial balloon septostomy However definitive surgical procedures can be an atrial switch or an arterial switch. We present a case of a 10 month old infant with d-TGA with left SVC, who underwent a modified mustard and a Glenn procedure for palliation.
Hina Inam, Fazal Wahab Khan, Taimur Asif Ali, Asif Hassan, Muneer Amanullah Copyright (c) 0 https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2473 Tue, 15 Jan 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Cytological Diagnosis Of Collegenous Spherulosis: A Rare Incidental Finding In Proliferative Breast Lesions https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2475
Collagenous spherulosis is a rare incidental finding characterized by collagen rich spherules made up of basement membrane material and is frequently associated with other benign lesions of the breast like fibroadenoma, papilloma, sclerosing adenosis, radial sclerosing lesion, adenomyoepithelioma and florid ductal hyperplasia. The estimated incidence of this innocuous condition is only about 0.2% in cytological material. It is of utmost importance to differentiate collagenous spherulosis from atypical proliferations and malignant mimics especially adenoid cystic carcinoma to avoid unnecessary treatment. Here we discuss the cytological findings of a case of collagenous spherulosis associated with benign proliferative breast disease, along with brief review of literature
Gajender Singh, Renuka Verma, Sant Kataria, Meenu Gilotra Copyright (c) 0 https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2475 Tue, 15 Jan 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Vulvar Epithelium Epithelioid Sarcoma In Pregnancy https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2474
Vulvar sarcoma is a rare neoplasm in female genital tract. We report a case of 27-year-old woman, 28-weeks pregnant presented with vulvar mass. Right hemivulvectomy with rotation flap was done during her pregnancy. Pathological diagnosis confirmed vulvar epithelium epithelioid sarcoma. No adjuvant treatment was given. She had no disease recurrence at seven years after primary surgery
Pinyada Panyavaranant, Tarinee Manchana, Surang Triratanachat, Voranuch Thanakit Copyright (c) 2019 https://nicpd.ac.in/ojs-/index.php/seajcrr/article/view/2474 Tue, 15 Jan 2019 00:00:00 +0000
