A case presentation of thyroid storm in a case of complete hydatidiform mole
DOI:

Hydatidiform Mole (H. Mole) occurs in 1:1000
pregnancies worldwide. Incidence is higher in Asian
countries. Prevalence of hyperthyroidism during
complete molar pregnancy is as high as 7%[1]. This is
attributed to excess of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin
(HCG), which has a weak intrinsic thyroid stimulating
activity. Clinical hyperthyroidism due to trophoblastic
disease is cured by evacuation of molar tissue. Here we
present a case of thyroid storm in a case of complete H.
Mole.
